GRACE IN JUSTICE - volume 12 in the Grace & Gravity series

Ends on

GRACE IN JUSTICE… exploring the great divides in our nation today and the hope for a better tomorrow.

The distance between survival and security has never felt greater. Across our communities, rising housing costs, stagnant wages, mounting debt, and challenges to our basic dignity and basic rights as women are reshaping how people live, love, work, and dream. Behind every statistic is a story.

GRACE IN JUSTICE, the 12th volume of the acclaimed Grace & Gravity anthology series, seeks original full-length short stories and literary nonfiction (including flash and micros) that explore the many faces of inequality.

We invite women-identifying writers who reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to examine the realities of housing insecurity, labor and wages, poverty, food insecurity, caregiving, class, generational wealth, systemic barriers—and the resilience that emerges in the face of adversity.

We are looking for prose that bears witness to struggle, challenges assumptions, reveals unexpected beauty, and illuminates lives too often overlooked.

Surprise us. Move us. Make us see the human experience behind the headlines. Whether your work is intimate or expansive, realist or speculative, we welcome stories and essays that confront inequality-- and injustice --with honesty, empathy, and exceptional craft.

Submit original fiction or literary nonfiction of up to 2,000 words and join a long tradition of celebrating the extraordinary voices of women writers throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Deadline: November 15th. Length: maximum 2,000 words.
